Hi,
I wonder if you could give me some guidance.
I’ve had flu for a week, still not over it and not been able to study in this time. I’ve read illnesses can be reported to ACCA and taken into consideration, and wondered whether this is worth doing, or whether it’ll be dismissed as it’s not a serious illness? (Other than its affected my studies!!!)
Thanks,
Sam
November 18, 2014 at 1:07 pm #210999Hi,
I wonder what consideration do you expect from ACCA
1. Postponed exam dates for you considering you have flu &/or
2. Be lenient in marking your paper and give you few extra marks considering you have flu for a week out of minimum six months study time that you get…Anxiously awaiting your response.
November 18, 2014 at 1:33 pm #211006Thank you for your ‘constructive’ response.
I understand there’s 6 months study time between exams and my study’s have been going along well. It’s just unfortunate I have fell ill at such a pivotal time in my studies.
I was merely looking for guidance, as I read on the ACCA website under exams affected by illness about informing them and was looking for guidance whether I should. My first assumptions were this relates to serious illnesses and although this has hampered by studies, overall not life threatening!
So thank you for your response, albeit not helpful.
November 18, 2014 at 4:24 pm #211050If you are ill during the exams then you should contact the ACCA and tell them. They will need a doctors certificate, and depending on the degree of illness they may take it into account in the marking.
(They will only consider anything if you are ill during the exams themselves – not during the period leading up to the exams.)November 18, 2014 at 4:29 pm #211054Thanks John.
