Sir, can explain to me this IFRS
IFRS 8 states that if the total external turnover reported by the operating segments identified by the size criteria is less than 75% of total entity revenue then additional segments need to be reported on until the 75% level is reached.
Thanks.
Any segment greater than 10% (of various benchmarks) needs to be separately identified with corresponding data
So, if an entity has segments with 35% of revenue, 15% of revenue, 9% of revenue, 8% of revenue, 7% of revenue, 6% of revenue and various other smaller ones adding up to in aggregate 100%, then automatically you would disclose the 35% and the 15% aggregating 50%
But that’s less than 75%
So additionally disclose the 9% segment bringing us up to 59%
So additionally disclose the 8% segment bringing us up to 67%
So additionally disclose the 7% segment bringing us up to 74%
So additionally disclose the 6% segment bringing us up to 80%
and, phew, that’s enough
OK?
Thanks Sir for the detailed explanation 🙂
You’re welcome
