Dear John, if I have been asked to calculate idle time variance, I wander that should I calculate at excess idle variance by using budged idle time less actual idle time and then multiplying idle time pay rate, or by using (actual product * standard time-actual paid time)-actual idle time and then multiplying idle time pay rate?
