Dear All,
I have stared at this q for over 3 hours! I cannot see how to calc the pre-acq div. Info provided is as follows:TBay – doa 1 Dec 2005
Ord Share cap of 1$ – 120
Reserves at doa – 80
FV of NA at doa – 310
Cost of Inv 216
Ord share cap of $1 acquired: 72.Profit for year 31 May 2005: 15
Profit for year 31 May 2006: 30.Draft income statement has been provided, but I do not think it is relevant to the div calc. It seems that the pre-acq div is $40. How is this calculated?
I will be grateful for any help. Maybe BPP has missed out important info?

what edition bpp you use?bpp2012 Ejoy is question 37 and bpp amended the qs,do not have any dividend,if you are using past year qs u can find the dividend adjustment from additional information (iii)Immediatly after acq Tbay paid a div of $40m
