Investment property is property held to earn:

02. For Capital Appreciation purposes or

Accounting treatment
An entity can choose either
01. The cost model or
02. The Fair Value Model
The Cost Model
The cost model simply as set out in IAS 16
The Fair Value Model
The fair value model recognizes investment properties in the statement of financial position at fair value.
Gains and losses are recognized in the statement of profit or loss.
So,
SoFP : at Fair Value
SoPL : Gain/Losses on revaluation
Also, under the fv model, assets is not depreciated between valuations.
Only then gets depreciated if its used as PPE and NOT Investment Property.
