Please tell me if following information is correct or not.
The allocation of Impairment of CGU should be in following order:-
1.Reduce the carrying amount of any goodwill allocated to the CGU
2. The other assets of the unit (group of units) pro rata on the basis of the carrying amount of each asset in the unit (group of units).
But in case of an obviously impaired asset (eg damaged), the allocation of Impairment of CGU should be in following order:-
1. Allocate impairment to obviously impaired asset first
2. Reduce the carrying amount of any goodwill allocated to the CGU
3. The other assets of the unit (group of units) pro rata on the basis of the carrying amount of each asset in the unit (group of units).
That is all correct.
When you say ‘the other assets’, note that this means the other NON CURRENT ASSETS.
