If the co. is an agent and making sales on behalf of some company,it only recognises the commission as fees. But what is the treatment of the receivables as the amount is not solely attributable to the entity’s revenue.
Thanks sir 🙂
The invoicing will be done by the principal. The agent is there to find customers for the principal – effectively they are a marriage-introduction service introducing the principal to prospective customers
So the principal will invoice the customer with the full price and the agent will invoice the principal with the commission
But who will record the receivabkes and at what amount?
the principal, at full sale price. But that’s what I said in my previous post!
