I have difficulties to distinguish which kind of overhaul should be capitalized.
For example ” ABC company built a new production line on 1 January 2017. ABC company believes that in four years time, the production line will require a major overhaul to ensure it generates economic benefits for the next six years. The estimated overhaul cost at 31 January 2017 was $600,000.”
Should this overhaul be capitalized?
