PPE is held for use in the business

Investment property is held for its income earning potential or anticipated capital appreciation

Similarities? They are both items of non-current assets

    Will that do?

Other than there are both NCA, is there any other similarities?

    Yes, both involve property

I don’t know where you want me to go with this … I could be silly and say “Yes, both are the subject of their own IAS” or I could say that both are depreciated (PPE always and Investment Property when applying the cost model)

Why are you asking – is this a question that has been asked of you? Because you’re not likely to have a question in F7 / Financial Reporting that asks for differences and similarities

    OK?
