I have my P7 exam on 1st.June 2015 (yes two weeks away) and P4 on 2nd June 2015 (yes, two weeks away) and I have not studied either subject. Should I skip the exams because I haven’t started studying for them (my own carelessness here) or just go to the exam room with a blank mind hoping that the exam will be very easy and give me a 50%?
I cannot postpone the exams to the next sitting so it’s a horrible nightmare I am facing. Any guidance someone is willing to offer?
are these resits? if they are its possible that you can get away with practicing as much past papers as possible and still pass.

What do you say cannot postpone it? Your firm doesn’t allow it?
practicing as much past papers as possible for both papers may still work if you have the time. or you could just focus on the one that you understand or remember the most about from previous sitting.

Thank you Latoyah but I am doing these papers first time so about remembering the most from the last sitting wouldn’t be applicable to me.

Can’t comment on P4 as I did not study it.
Regarding P7. How long ago did you do F8 and how well did you pass? If it was recently and you got a good mark you would have a chance as there is very little new knowledge.
In addition most of the new knowledge (other than knowing all the standards learnt in P2) you may already know depending on where you currently work. For example if you work in a Professional practice like Accountants/Law firm you will have encountered things like Money Laundering, liability insurance etc.
In addition P7 is all about learning the technique of how to answer. There may still be some revision courses that could teach you that technique.
If none of the above apply I would not bother. You will only fail and more likely get a bad mark that will put you off in future.
Even If you do no study and manage a reasonable mark but still fail i.e. high 30’s low 40’s you may be inclined to not try very hard next time and then fail again.
I would recommend going along and sitting there and attempting the exam. That way you have a chance of passing, by not going you have no chance at all.
Also staying in the habit of sitting exams every 6 months (a habit easily broken) is important to exam success, just like going to the library everyday afterwork. Once it becomes a habit it becomes a lot easier to do.
So I hope that helps you to reach a decision.
