After having received the result of P1 (3rd attempt) and P4 (3rd attempt), both failed, I am leaving it with the Diploma in Business and Accounting having been achieved, this is for the completion of F1 to F9.

I have being self-studying and with dedication and perseverance I’ve been able to acheive them one by one, but with Professional level I feel like having dedicated too much of my life during last 1.5 years and being a full-time employee I am not able to sacrifice more time and specially weekends.

Maybe in the future, if I found myself in a situation of unemployment, I may decide to retake ACCA. But for now, I’m out. I never thought that I would quick in the last phase but… the examiners are very demanding and I’ve experienced going worst in each attempt, meaning that I acheived 49 marks in Dec16 P4 sitting, and less than half of that in the recent sitting Mar17.

I admire those who have acheived ACCA, it really makes you unique in accounting & finance field.

I have enjoyed every exam I have taken. And the knowledge gained, has helped me to be promoted in my job. Even not having the qualification officially, the most important is the knowledge you acquire in each exam.

    Good luck!

Hi Non47, sorry to hear you are out of ACCA, I just recently achieved what you are giving up which is getting through F papers and it was not easy… This is such a shame to give up when you are getting that close, man. Anyway, best of luck to you, maybe you just need a break?

I don’t want to sound like a parent, but please think about it before giving up…Better get to the end slowly than not getting there at all. Relax, it will happen. Let’s try and try…until we succeed.

I’d try one paper at a time before quitting completely.

Do not give up. Switch from P4 to another paper and attempt one at a time so that you can give it your full attention. You are not alone. i have felt like this a million times but persevered and i am now an affiliate. Keep going its worth it.

As above, don’t quit! I’m in more or less the same boat as you in terms of being employed full time and also with a 2nd job in the evening.

Balancing work/work/study has been immense stress and pressure but achieving this qualification is a dream. I started my ACCA almost 4 years ago and have self-studied P1-P3 one at a time in the last year.

I am not at all an academic person, as long as you stick with it and have a positive mindset and dedication you can and will pass them. Maybe it’s your approach to study that is not working well, have you considered going on courses? They may open your mind a bit more.

5 exams left may seem a lot but you’re in fact almost there. Focus on one each time and you will get to the end. It will be worth the time and hard work for sure.

    All the very best!
