    Hi
Does anyone know how to work out exact weeks between dates for calculating Class 2 NIC during exam? For example, trading starts from 30 April 2010, and ending on 30 August 2010, how may weeks exactly?
    Many thanks

You don’t have to calculate in days you can do the calculation in months. So in your question it wil be 4 months.
    Hope this helps

Hi, you are right about the weeks.

    31 days – in May
    30- June
    31-July
    31-Aug
    = 31*3+30=123days/7=17.57
so you can round it up or down.
so roughly 17 weeks or 18 weeks. we will be fine if we give either numbers

assume 52 weeks a year, so in your example it is 4 months:

    4/12 x 52 = 17,3333333333

    so 17.

I am aware that Class 2 is in reality calculated in weeks but for the EXAM you can do in months as the annual figure is £125. Just prorate so 4 months is 4/12 x 125 = £42
    Approx same as 17 x 2.40 = £41
