Hi Joe – good to have some confirmation that what I have said for years does in fact seem to work
September 27, 2014 at 6:55 pm #201981Mike I never had any doubt! Your advice is invaluable and I am sure everyone reading your posts and listening to your lectures will agree.
I study with a blend of Kaplan text books, your useful OT lectures and free course notes, browse through the internet and use my experience from work and it is great.
I should have finished the ACCA years ago, but decided to take it up again 5 years ago and I would like to complete it now more as a challenge than anything else………..

And good luck – remember, if you come across anything you’re not happy with, drop us a line
🙂
September 28, 2014 at 2:25 pm #202042Thanks for reply Joe. I’m just looking at the consolidate SFP questions just now. I can’t manage any theory yet. Cashflows came up last december and oci this year. Do you think it will be consolidated sfp this december?

Hi,
I have passed all my exams first time only 2 left and I have been following opentuition lectures all the way.
My way of study might not suite everyone but I share it anyway.
1. Go through all the lectures on this site and read the notes.
2. Solve EVERY question in the exam kit. If you are uncomfortable use the answers but make sure you understand why the answer is so.
3. For isues that are rally challenging you read the relevant pages from the book ( not the whole book at once)
4. Once you have solved all exam questions with the help of the answer guide try to solve them AGAIN but on your own this time under timed conditions. You might not have time to go over all of them again but it helps to do as many you can. For any questions you struggled go back to your notes and revise the material.
5. I also use the poket notes and I go though them the day before the exam and sometimes even the morning just to recap the main issues. I always find that I gain a few marks on each exam just because I read the relevant item the morning.
October 25, 2014 at 10:46 am #205901Hi Mike,
thank u for tips. Which questions from past papers would you particulary recommend to practise, especially from Q.1 part of the exam? I’ve gone through your lectures on group accounting (up to ch. 5) and despite understanding all exaples I find it difficult to apply it to Q.1 scenario. I failed P2 already:(
Kind regards, AgaPS. Where can I get the revision kit?
October 26, 2014 at 1:19 am #205988for me, self study,BPP tex is key and i read them all, practice past questions only after reading the text.I prepare for 3 months for each session ,writing four papers in each, hope to complete p2,p3,p4 and p7 december 14 ( COMPLETE ACCA IN LESS THAN 2 YEARS)
if you fail to do any thing please don’t fail to practice past questions,it will lead you to failure( I had failed once, f6 ,because i fail to practice past questions, and when i practiced past questions i scored 70)
please attempt all 3 questions, that is the only way to pass
opentuition notes are very good use them
