hie mike. im afraid of P7 because many people failed it and i want to write it in june. i did like to know the best way i can tackle this paper.
February 6, 2017 at 7:56 pm #371374Read, read and then read
Technical articles, examiner’s comments, free course notes, exam technique articles on the P7 home page (and also on the P3 (?) home page) and then the big one! The revision kit / exam kit
Cover to cover, questions and answers
At least once per month for February, March, April and May
Just read endlessly and repetitively
Then post again at end April for the next section of advice on preparing for P7 in June
OK?

i was keep failing P7 exam for last one year (4 sessions ) now again aiming to sit March 17 one but not sure what should i do . In the exam hall i always face serious time pressure ,never came out with all questions answered .This time i am thinking to start with Q2 then rest .. would that be good idea ? I want to answer all 4 questions before i leave exam hall .
ThanksFebruary 7, 2017 at 12:10 pm #371467May I be totally brutal here?
Learn to tell the time and …
… learn to stop when the time allocation is finished
It really is very easy
You’re basically lacking organisational skills (as well as an inability to tell the time!)
Do you plan your answers before you start writing a ‘proper’ answer?
Do you read the question requirements before you start reading the question detail?
Do you write down your thoughts in a plan and then re-read the question requirements?
Do you prepare a plan for every part of the questions?
Do you know how much you can write in 1 minute 18 seconds?
Have you read the examination technique article on the P7 home page (towards the bottom of the page)?
And the 2 similar articles by 2 members of the P3 marking team?
Well do you? / Have you?

Hi Mike,
I also attempted 4th time on P7 but still failed, I got 48 in March 2017 and I have 2 more chances to attempt as my last session is in Sep 2017. This is my last paper. I lost confidence now and my weakness is time management, my writing skill – English not good and never finish all the questions..shall I attend course or revision class or any recommendations on BPP or Kaplan or else? shall I keep self study?what should I do to pass this paper as I really don’t know how to do now. Please advice. Thanks.April 18, 2017 at 8:11 pm #382535Here’s a response that I wrote on February 7, 2017

and another that I wrote yesterday
“Hide your study text in a place that you can forget about
Open a revision kit / exam kit from a reputable publisher and read it, from start to finish, question, answer, question, answer, question, answer, question, answ…. and keep doing that, reading the book from start to finish
When I say “read” that’s exactly what I mean. Don’t try to learn. Don’t try to memorise. Just read
Pay attention to the way in which the specific question requirement is addressed
Notice how many different points are raised in the answers
Reflect upon the professionalism of the answer
And read too:
examiner’s reports
the last 10 technical articles
my exam technique article on the P1 home page
the exam technique article on the P3 (yes, P3) home page “From a marker’s perspective” – this article repeats the advice from my own article but it may reassure you to know that the advice is not mine alone but is supported by no less a person that a member of the P3 marking teamBut, most of all, read that book over and over again and again until 22 May and then post again for the remainder of the advice on how to tackle P7
OK?”
READ
and LEARN TO TELL THE TIME!!
Post again on May 22 for the next piece of advice!
And don’t be de-motivated! Be positive. You CAN do it!
