I know that there is general rule that the calculation process will be presented in Spreadsheet, and the discussion will be presented in word processor. However, in a question which requires to write a report in which one of the requirements of this report is to calculate a number such as ” calculate the company’s cost of capital”, for example in the question in the following link:
https://www.accaglobal.com/content/dam/ACCA_Global/Students/resourceFinder/Read-the-mind-of-AFM-marker-Q1.pdf
Is it neccessary to repeat the answer of the calculation of company’s cost of capital in the body of the report which is presented on word processor ? OR we only need to present the answer to the requirement :”calculate the company’s cost of capital” in spreasheet without repeating on word processor?February 22, 2024 at 8:21 am #700849You do not need to repeat calculations in the report itself. Just state that the calculations are in the appendix (i.e. in the spreadsheet).
February 22, 2024 at 4:31 pm #700900I have one more question. For this problem 1 (Lirio Co) March/June 2016 from the following link:
https://www.accaglobal.com/content/dam/ACCA_Global/Students/prof/p4/Exam%20docs/mj16_hybrid_p4_q.pdf
For answer to part b(ii) Advises Lirio Co on, and recommends, an appropriate hedging strategy for the Euro (€) receipt it is due to receive in three months’ time from the sale of the equity investment:
If i present a paragraph of recommendation in spreadsheet in answer to this part for convenience as it follows the calculation in the spreadsheet , will this answer will be marked? Will my professional marks for this question be reduced?February 23, 2024 at 7:03 am #700929It will be marked and you will not lose professional marks. However it would be better to show in the word processor.
