Hi
I am studying F5 for exam in September.
I studied my previuos papars with OT lectures, text book and exam kit.
I started with the same approach, but I have found the text book very time consuming.
To whom has already studied for this exam, could you please advise the best approach in order to pass itthanks

Hi Gabriella,
I’ve just sat the F5 paper and this is what I would advise. I would go through the material once and just get a good understanding of the material as the multiple choice area is worth 40% of the exam and will test the whole syllabus.
However, after that I would then look at applying the methods, this is key in my opinion. The application will be needed in the various pricing/costing methods, from ABC, Target/Lifecycle to relevant costing to learning curves and variances. This is what I would spend most of my time learning as this is likely to come up in section B of the paper with some written element too.
Then I would looking at practicing both of these further probably at least a few weeks before the exam using previous exam paper, I thought this was crucial for my exam and I spent 3-4 days going through the previous 11 past papers, I did rush it a bit.If you want to know more info, you can PM me or quote me and I hope this helps. Good luck.

You will also find useful the free lectures going through all of the questions in both the December 2014 and the specimen exam (and soon also the June 2015 exam). These are useful not just because I explain the answers but also in terms of the approach to the exam and how to get the marks.June 23, 2015 at 12:07 pm #258578Hello John
Thank you very much for your help.
I will follow your advice.Best Regards
