    Hi Tutor Kim

I am already done with the lectures and started with some practice questions in this site. may I ask what will be the best study design? Does repetition on answering a revision kit will be enough? This is the advise on Law Eng exam, is this applicable on AA also?

Law is more knowledge based – so there is more to gained by repetition if you get any answers wrong. But with 70% of AA made up of longer scenario-based questions of 30% and 20% it is better to attempt as many different questions as possible. For example, you should find a “controls” questions for each of the main transaction cycles – and if you struggle with any in particular, after a thorough review of your attempt and the model answers, then try another one. AA needs to be understood rather than learnt, so you can tailor any ideas you have to the specifics of each question.

Thanks. Are past exams from 2013 still applicable to study?

The exam format changed from September 2016 – full exams for the Specimen, S16 and D16 are available on ACCA’s www and sample Qs (from Section B) in the hybrid exams for M/J17, S/J17 and M/J18. Students who practice from older exams as published must:
    – be aware of the change in format (i.e. not stand-alone OTs)
    – be aware of the change in emphasis (i.e. “Section B of the exam will predominantly examine one or more aspects of audit and assurance from planning and risk assessment, internal control or audit evidence …”)
    – ignore auditor’s report questions as they will not have been updated for the “reporting ISAs” (ISA 700 series).
This is why we strongly recommend a current ACCA-Approved revision kit which has been updated in all these respects.

    What are S16, D6, m/j17 , S/J17, and M/J17?

I already have a revision kit from bPp. Are there chances of repetition of questions from past exams?

I recommend that you familiarise yourself with all ACCA resources https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/student/exam-support-resources/fundamentals-exams-study-resources/f8.html
M/J/S/D is the convention for March/June/Sept/Dec exam sessions and 16/17/18 are the years. Since D16 ACCA publishes a “hybrid” exam of sample questions selected from the M/J and S/D exam sessions rather than full exams. You will see that the wording of some requirements is fairly standard, and may therefore be repeated, but the scenarios are always different.

Since you have a BPP kit you will already have past exam Qs in that – so it will just be the more recent exams that you should check out from ACCA’s www.
