Hi Sir
I have been trying to revise for the exam through practise questions, however I feel I do not write enough for this paper.
Could you recommend any approach for this paper? Currently I am trying to complete a question to time and then bullet point an answer to another question write another in full etc etc.
Can you please advise if there is anything else I could do to increase my knowledge…something tells me you will say past questions… and finally please advise of any relevant articles? There are so many when I looked it up last.
Thanks
November 16, 2014 at 9:31 am #210361Bullet point the planned answers but take only the “correct” time to do so
(Divide the number of marks available by 2 and that’s the time allocation for your plans)
That then only leaves 1.3 minutes to be available to write out a sentence sufficient to score you a mark. Try copying (so no thought, no sitting back and thinking about the issue, just copy) a piece of text from a book, study text, magazine – whatever and see how much you can write in 1 minute 18 seconds
And that represents the MAXIMUM length of each of the sentences that you write in the exam
Each sentence contains just ONE mark able point and each mark able point is represented by ONE sentence
Leave a line between your sentences – it makes it easier for a marker to see where you’re going.
Gather your points into logical subdivisions
At the end of your planned bullet points, assess whether you have bulleted the appropriate number of separate points – a ten mark sub-question needs ten bullets
Try that and see how you get on
