Hi Sir,
Q1 in the Kaplan kit is about “Prepare a brief report for the Scat HR director to explain why the change of leadership style at ARC was unsuccessful and whether this reflects a poor approach to Scat’s management training programme.”.
I though my answer make good sense until I read the answer in the kit.
They were using terminology to describe the leadership style, such as “Tannenbaum and Schmidt model”, “the Blake and Mouton managerial grid” etc.My question is: Do You get scores for mentioning the leadership style names? I usually do not remember the name itself but I do understand the whole concept of leadership style and sort of know how to bring out my point.
Certainly those names ro not feature in the SBL syllabus so they do not have to be mentioned specifically.
However, there is a section in the syllabus on management styles. Thismis not an exam in common sense and if your ideas can be backed up with recognised theories they are stronger.
We mention some in oir notee. Perhaps remembering one would be useful eg McGregor or Ashridge.
