    Hello to everyone,

I am new here. Got little knowledge in P7 just going for the coming session.

Just need to know the following:

    1. What are the correct exam techniques to solve question?
    a. First to solve Section-B or Section-A
    b. Any other way to gain easy marks (exclude the professional mark, bcoz I know that)

    2. Which is the most important chapters that usually comes at every attempt ?

    3. What to do to pass at first attempt for the December-17 Session ?

Kindly if you have any other answers or tips apart from above mentioned questions, please share it.

    Thank you

Hi – welcome to the Opentuition site

The forum on which you have posted your question is called “Ask ACCA Tutor” and that’s me. I am (or, at least I should be) the only one that is responding to posts on this page

If you wish to address the student body generally (“Hello to everyone”) you could post that on the general forum for the appropriate paper

Now, to answer your post …

… there are a couple of articles on examination technique towards the foot of the P7 home page.

One was written by me based on experience of over 40 years teaching and exam marking (both for Kaplan and for ACCA)

The second is written by a member of the P4 marking team (yes, P4 – exam technique has many many common characteristics that apply to all exams)

The second article sings the same song that I propose but it will hopefully reassure you that, if two people with experience recommend a particular course of action, the advice given probably has some solid foundation

Common questions? Check out the past exams – available through this site

What to do to pass at the first attempt? Put away any study text and start reading course notes (2 hours, start to finish), watch the video lectures, read the examiner’s reports and READ, READ and READ again the revision kit from question 1 right the way through to the last answer

    Just read.

Then on 20 November, post again and I’ll give you the second (and final) piece of advice for your P7 preparation

    OK?
