Hi,
I am about to sit P1-P3 but only want to do 2 exams- if i chose to do P2 in December 2011 and i failed then, would the text for Dec 2011 be out of date for the JUne 2012 sitting? (i know planning to fail is silly but i am over cautious and dont want to spend a fortune on new books?
Will there be new IFRS’s examined in June 2012 that not in Dec 2011 syllabus?
Thanks
February 21, 2011 at 5:06 pm #78686Hi – yes, the study text would be out of date. However, the extent of any syllabus revision tends only to be to include any new IFRS issued during the previous year. Occasionally ( every 6 or 7 years ) the ACCA carry out a major review but the last one was back in 2007 so the next is not due for a couple of years.
The syllabus for all papers is constantly under review but in the intervening years the revision tends to be only tinkering. Having said that, some of the June 2011 exams have undergone pretty substantial change. Thankfully, for P2, the changes since 2010 are pretty much cosmetic and 2012 canges are not likely to be substantial
