How long does it take to prepare for LW exam?
December 18, 2024 at 7:29 am #714234Wow! That’s a tricky one to answer! I’ve known people prepare over a weekend and pass and I’ve also known others who’ve taken weeks, and failed. I suppose the moral of that observation is ‘Don’t take longer than a couple of days of preparation’!!!
It’s a difficult (impossible?) question for me to answer because there are so many unknowns and imponderables. Much depends upon you and your personal circumstances.
What else is going on in your life? Are you married or in a serious relationship? Do you have children? Are you in full-time employment? What are any other demands on your time? How receptive are you to learning / appreciating new and strange topics? How long is your attention span? And so on and so on.
You need a revision kit from a reputable provider. You need course notes and lecture videos (free on this site) and you need time to attempt a couple of mock exams under exam conditions.
The course notes are designed in a way that you can read them from start to finish in around 2 hours – just READ, don’t try to learn, just read. Watch the videos and reread the course notes. Read them again and maybe watch the videos again.
Then get stuck into the revision kit questions. Do 10 questions – any topic. And mark your effort. You’ve possibly scored only 2, maybe 3 or maybe even 4. Do another 10, different topic and repeat. You will find that, after a number of repetitions, you are scoring 7, 8, 9 maybe even 10 consistently.
DO NOT write your attempts in the revision kit. Separate piece of paper is needed so you can repeatedly go over the same questions multiple times without being influenced by any previous effort.
Repeat and repeat and repeat. Hour after hour.
And, when you come across an answer that you got wrong and you don’t understand ‘Why’ your answer is incorrect, post on this forum and I shall get back to you.
And, whenever you find you have a couple of hours to spare, read the course notes again.
But, most importantly of all, ENJOY the law (there’s nothing worse than being forced to do something that you find boring or hateful!)
Does that help?
