How much time do I need to complete my RAP
June 28, 2014 at 2:27 pm #177801@beautyashma – this can only be a general guide as it depends to a certain extent on the topic chosen, the amount of information readily available, student commitments and also the capability of the person submitting. 🙂
As a general guideline I suggest 3 months should be sufficient to do a decent RAP if you work steadily at it during that time. I have seen posts by others suggesting it can be done in less (I have my doubts!) but why put yourself under undue stress and cut corners? There is normally a correlation between time spent and quality, so if you want a decent grade do not try to do it in a hurry!
One of the key areas is evaluation (which comprises far more than just producing number crunching, ratios and graphs) and involves reflecting on what the figures really mean and probably doing additional research. Reviewing your work objectively as you go along and making the necessary revisions if required is another way of improving your RAP and again this needs to be built into the timetable.

July 13, 2014 at 5:31 pm #178807As I have mentioned above – there is no hard and fast rule but in my extensive experience RAPs that get a grade A have normally been worked on for several months. The students have planned the work well and it has been thoroughly reviewed and revised so that they have covered all the requirements in good detail. Critical thought is the key to getting an A or B grade which takes time as you not only need to research well, you have to approach the work from different angles and present reasoned arguments. A RAP produced in a hurry is often superficial as the student does not have the time to research deeply and evaluate it and “stand back” from their work and make it objective. At best the rush jobs may get a C
July 13, 2014 at 5:53 pm #178815In my opinion, it depends upon your topic, organisation and available information. Further, your knowledge and experience in preparing thesis will also affect timing. In my experience, i have seen students who complete a project in 20 days and some takes even 6 months. But average is 1 to 2 months.
Thanks…
