Research has indicated that workers in country A display characteristics such as toughness and the desire for material weath and possessions, while workers in country B value personal relationships, belonging and the quality of life

According to Hofstede’s theory, these distinctions relate to which of the following cultural dimensions ?

    Answer is Masculinity – femininity

Please let me know that why the answer is it.

    Thank you

The assumptoin is that masculine characteristics are more competitive and objective (eg wealth and possessions) whilst femine characteristics place more emphasis on relationships, friendship etc.

The use of masculine/feminine might nowadays be seen as sexual stereotyping because there are many people of both sexes who have personalities that are quite different from those suggested above.
