The term hierarchy refers to the distribution of authority, responsibility and accountability.
Which of the following is an essential feature of a hierarchy?
A)Authority passes downwards
B)Authority passes laterally
C)Authority passes upwards
For me B one Authority passes laterally What do you think?Ca you help me to understand fully all f answers

A hierarchy implies an order of seniority.

Of the above only A is essential ie a boss tells a subordinate to fulfil a task and that gives the subordinate authority to carry out the task.
