“I am starting ACCA as a student from a non-accounting background. I plan to begin with the Foundation Diploma and attempt the three papers FBT (Business & Technology), FMA (Management Accounting), and FFA (Financial Accounting). Once I complete these, I aim to progress directly to the Applied Skills level papers.
My question is:
Does ACCA require students in my situation to first attempt and pass FA1, MA1, FA2, and MA2 (the introductory Foundation-level papers) before moving on to the Applied Skills level, or will completing FBT, FMA, and FFA be sufficient to progress to the higher levels?”
Welcome to our forums! ACCA no longer requires candidates to collect the 1 & 2 level certificates. FFA, FMA, FBT in the foundations qualification are the same as FA, MA, BT in the professional qualification. As it states here https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/qualifications/glance/foundation-level/course-details.html
“ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Business (RQF Level 4)
This more advanced qualification is broadly matched to a HND level or the first year of a degree programme or equivalent. It comprises three courses, and by completing these you will also be completing the Applied Knowledge level of the full ACCA Qualification:”
