Its my first time self studying and ive failed 3 times now! please can you help me with tips to pass this paper!!!! My worst nightmare F5 hehehehe
March 20, 2014 at 4:35 pm #162752The only way to pass is to study hard and to keep practicing questions. There is no other way.
You must make sure that you really understand the topics (learning rules does not work for F5) – if you do not understand what you are doing then you will not pass.
Also, you must make sure that you can prove you understand in the written parts of the questions. 50% of the exam with be writing (as opposed to calculations) and you will not pass unless you can do decent answers to these parts.
Assuming that you have been through all the lectures on here, then the best way of learning for the written parts is from past exam questions.
But again, it is practice practice practice – sorting out where you have made mistakes, and more importantly making sure that you can prove that you really understand.

April 1, 2014 at 4:43 pm #163915Hi how are you? I want to know if someone wants to have a study group for F5.
maybe we can help us and prepare for the next testApril 3, 2014 at 2:07 pm #164147Hi Luis, im good thanks.
yes i would like this….
April 10, 2014 at 3:31 pm #164976Lot of material in F5. Open tuition notes and videos are very good though so with these should be fine none of it is too difficult just need to put in the time.
First 6 chapters are fairly easy go over these several times and get these nailed pretty quickly and put them behind you till nearer the exam.
Chap 7-12 are trickier.
Chap 13 and 14 are bulky and very much related to each other and tough going.
15-21 is small and easy.
So once first six chapters in the bag i would suggest when brain is fresh in the morning to tackle chapter 7-12 and when brain is dieing start reading over the easier ones 15-21. Same approach to chap 13 and 14 go over these when brain is feeling good and when tired read over chapters 15-21.
April 11, 2014 at 12:06 am #165001Thank you very much your lectures just make sense now and i understand how you worked them out, i have been give formulae’s and to pick from the info without fully understanding why…. and i did this with kaplan…. you a star just finished watchng your mix and yield lecture wow…. so easy when you understand… one more question. Do you have the answers and the working on an answers sheet so I can study them… for example you did an example with 5000 units and standard cost card for material x 2kg @ $3 and material y 1kg @ $2….. do you have your workings so i can print and study the formulae……
thank you thank you thank you……
