sir can u tell me the difference between integration and convergence an d also both are used in which context?
thanks in advance.
‘Convergence’ is a term used to describe describe industries moving towards one another eg telecommunications and computers.
‘Integration’ is usually used to mean a business taking over or setting up it’s support or customer.
so can we say ” when business systems merge to facilitate or support customer base” it is integration?
e.g. Super Stores have home delivery services.. they integrated their business with this service?
Yes, that’s right. They think that integrating a courier activity with a store keeping activity will give better service. For example, it might be easier to match up sales and delivery if both run by the same company. Some businesses might disagree and claim that integration is not the way to go. For example, running a store is rather different to running a delivery service and, for example, they might not get full use of their vans.
Thank you!!! 🙂
thanks sir for telling about integration in detail but can u tell me that convergence is used in which circumstances?
