Goodwill calculation

Aaccount3310y ago
Am I correct in thinking there are different methods of arriving at goodwill in a consolidation question? Thanks

Yes, they're explained in the lecture, free on this site. But the basic principle is the same throughout - goodwill is the difference between the fair value of the subsidiary's identifiable net assets when compared with the value of the subsidiary as measured by the consideration paid plus the value attributable to the nci

Thanks Mike. I still haven't got NCI clear in my head. I'll come back to that with a question later
