Goodwill arose from acquisition of overseas subsidiary

Hi Sir In the lecture of chapter 7 example 3 regarding the fx loss of $11m in goodwill due to different exchange rate used at the date of acquisition and at year end, are we saying that GW arose from overseas subsidiary is revalued at every reporting date for as long as we have the sub?
