I just signed up with this website. Before now, i had wanted to shift this ACCA exam to a future time in my life, since i am studying the Chinese language presently.

I have a first degree in Accountancy- Bsc.
In my country, you gotta do a compulsory national service of one-year. I graduated in 2013, but have no work experience as i am still doing my national service.

Meanwhile, during this national service, one can still apply for jobs. So, i realised that ACCA membership can give me an edge in my job-hunt. I have decided to kick-start this ACCA program with enthusiasm but do not know how/where to start.

Please, anybody in the house can give me some guidelines. What is F1, F3, F7, P2, P6?
Where do i start from, as someone that already has a Bsc in Accountancy? When is the best time to sit for my first exam?

    Thanks

Welcome, to the site.Probably your best place to start is the ACCA website. There you should be able to get a basic overview of the ACCA Process and find out what exemptions to which you are entitled on the exemption search database on the site. You may have quite a few considering you have studied Accounting at degree level.I don’t think there is a best time to sit exams. The best time is when you feel reasonably confident about a paper or set of papers.

First thing is have you registered on accaglobal.com?

You have to fill registration form – you are probably eligible to have some exam exemptions based on your education – but you will have to present scanned documents to verify your qualification.

The fundamental papers are the ones to which you may be entitled to exemptions. That is what the F stands for in F1,F3 and F7.The next stage up is the Professional module papers. These are referenced by the letter P.No exemptions are awarded for previous study so you will have to sit five of these papers.F1 paper is accountant in business paper.F7 is Financial Reporting paper.P2 is Corporate Reporting Paper.P6 is Advanced Taxation paper.

    Thanks mrjonbain, seagoat and zara.

Today, i checked the acca global website, downloaded some pdf (which i still have to read), got to know the amount for the exams: early, standard & late.

As it appears, i hope to sit for the December 2015 exam.

I don’t know if the “online-format” will be more convenient than the “live/paper format”. Don’t know if any of you guys is from my country so you’d have known what’s obtainable here.

What is meant by registration fee and re-subscription fee and annual fee?

I am most grateful for your altruistic help here. Thanks everyone.

Registration fee is paid on “signing up” with ACCA.It will be paid together with a subscription fee if you sign up before May 8th and are therefore eligible to enter June exams. The annual fee is your annual subscription to stay on register and is due by January 1st every year.Re-registration fee is applicable if you resign or are removed from the register for any reason. To be put back on register you will need to apply to be put back on register and pay this fee together with the balance of any fees due at time of deregistration.
