    In the youtube video lecture Chapter 11 CGT Individual (part 2) Example 7 lecturer says that there is no gain on sale of the ring. But in TX Notes it says that Capital Gain = 8000

    I think that lecturer is probably accurate.
    But however Notes are misleading at this point.

    The transfer between partners is no gain/no loss but then Fredo sells – this means there is CGT – the notes are correct. Read the question carefully
