    Hi Everybody

I have one exam left to sit which I will do in December, my PER is all signed off so I will hopefully be a member in february. I have 8 years of experience in both management and Financial accounts.

I am currently in England but will move to China in December, I have never been before but I am looking to get a job in accountancy there and stay as long as possible.

Has anyone here ever moved to China? Where should I look for jobs? Should I try to apply for a work visa with the Chinese government then look for a job when I am over there?

I have contacted the Hays recruitment agency and Robert Half in China but they both say that unless I have a niche job skill it is unlikely someone from outside of China can get a job there.

I have so many questions but just thought I would ask if anyone here has any advice.

Major MNC regional headquarters are mainly located in Shanghai and Beijing, so you may find jobs there. Beijing is a bit environmentally challenged, Shanghai’s air for most of the time is OK to good.
As for visa thing, I am not sure. You may find others in expatriate forums in China.
Why would you want to work in China? Many Chinese young talents wish to work abroad, you know better pay, better living standards, working environment, etc. I know many Chinese students in UK are trying in vain to stay in Britain. But with current DC government policy, the hope is dim.
