I’m probably the same as everyone else this weekend – study, study study!

Just a couple of general questions about the exam itself. I have a new scientific calculator which I’ve bought specifically for this paper. It’s ok, but I have a more basic calculator for general sums that I like more. Does anyone know if it’s ok to take two calculators into the exam?

The second question is about rounding. When I’m going through past exam papers, I’m struggling to work out any rules towards rounding of numbers. Depending on whether a calculation uses a number with 4 decimal points or 2 decimals can make a difference to the answer. I’m wondering if anyone can give me any specific guidelines on this, and how forgiving the ACCA markers are about a question that is different due to rounding?

Any help much appreciated, and good luck for Monday everyone!!

    Regards,
    Roz

    Hi there,

it’s always great to be on safe side by taking 2 calculators incase something happens to one of them you wont be left disappiointed. I always carry 2 calculators.

I guess rounding off up to 3 decimal places is preferable, like if it’s .57436, you may take it as .574 and if it’s .57486, you can take it as .575

All the best to you too 🙂

Can we use abbrevations while answering ? Like for Actual Quantity Standard Material can we use AQSM throughout the answer after stating the full form ?
