Hi Mike,
So if you do the plan in the answer booklet, wouldn’t the examiner think this as bullet points etc? Can we just cancel the plan once we write the main answer or is it possible we can make the plan at the back of the booklet to avoid confusion
Thanks in Advance
June 4, 2016 at 5:59 am #319241What’s the problem with writing “Plan” at the top of the first page of each answer and then, WITH A RULER, drawing a straight line across the page and then starting your answer?
Do you really imagine that this is the first time these markers have marked a plan in an answer booklet?
How can you even begin to think about the idiocy of writing your plan in the back of the answer booklet? You may as well have it written on a pice of paper that you leave at home – keep having to go backwards and forwards to see what is next in the plan!
Madness!
OK?

so with a small paragraph of say 12 marks, is it safer to think of 12 issues, OR 6 issues each with 2 points of explanation?June 4, 2016 at 1:50 pm #319331before is used to write the plan in the question paper not the answer booklet, but sounds brilliant to write it on top of the page of the answer … thanks for the strategy

Work on the basis of one point for one mark
If a questions says “identify and explain” (or similar) that’s two questions1) identify
2) explainIf that’s a 12 mark requirement, that’s 6 marks for identifying and 6 marks for explaining
Ok, it’s possible that that’s 1/2 mark for identifying and 1.5 marks for explaining but what difference is that knowledge going to make to the planning process?
Are you going to plan an “identify” point only 1/3 the length of an “explain” point?
Work on one mark for one point!

i noticed answers for additional information questions is similar to evidence questions answers, is that true?June 6, 2016 at 6:01 am #319731Yes, it’s similar
What would you expect to find on the audit file …. and if it’s not there, then what additional information would you need
But this question is a bit late – the exam has already started in some parts of the World!
