sir i did not understand following things.
1.If fuel is provided from 6th april to 30 sept.2014, the fuel benefit will only be charged for six months as the provision of fuel has permanently ceased .
2. if fuel is provided from 6 april to 30 sept 2014, and then again from 1 jan to 5April 2014, the fuel benefit will not be reduced since the cessation was only temporary.
sir, please clarify me.. I could not understand both.
July 21, 2015 at 5:00 am #261199calculate the fuel benefit for Lewis, Nico, Fernando, Jenson and Sebastian assuming also that Fernando pays Speed Merchants plc £600 during 2014/15 towards the cost of private fuel, although the actual cost of this fuel was £1,000.
sir, while calculating fuel benefits of fernando, why dont we deduct fuel benefit
?July 28, 2015 at 10:14 am #262596In your first query this is not an example I have given in the OT study notes, but example 1 is correct, however your example 2 gives the WRONG dates! For the answer to be correct the second period for when the fuel was again provided should have been 1 January to 5 April 2015!!!
Secondly from the OT example your statement I regret makes no sense – we NEVER deduct a BENEFIT!! If you are however asking why we do not deduct the contribution of £600 from the fuel benefit then that is a question that you should not be asking as the notes and indeed the answer state that we NEVER deduct employee contributions from the FUEL benefit – either there is a fuel benefit or there is not and there is a fuel benefit if the employer pays for any part of the private fuel. Have you watched the relevant lecture?July 28, 2015 at 4:10 pm #262628.If fuel is provided from 6th april to 30 sept.2014, the fuel benefit will only be charged for six months as the provision of fuel has permanently ceased . sir, here permanently ceased means what?
