Hello,
I would appreciate if someone please explain how the 1.31% fuel tax increase has been calculated: 1.31% = 70% x (3/160) what does 160 represents?
My 2nd Q is 6.67% xrate calculation. I have figured out like that but why is it wrong? (1.5-1.4)/1.4 = 7.14%
Thanks
Kasia
Net price of fuel = 100
Gross price of fuel currently, including tax = 160
New gross price of fuel = 163
Incremental/proportional increase in price of fuel = (163 – 160)/160
Currently something costing V$100 will cost C$100/1.40 = 71.4286, there after C$100/1.50 = 66.6667
Change = 4.76 decrease
% decrease = 6.67%
Thanks that helps
