Can you pls explain a lil bit about correlation coefficient ? . They say : + 1 means the variable are positive , -1 means negative ”
+ 1 means bigger than 1 and -1 mean smaller than 1 ?
1- Can you please explain why the answer is +1,2 in this question ?
Which of the following is NOT a feasible value for the correlation coefficient ?
A +1,2
B +0,6
C 0
D -0,92- The following four data pairs have been obtained : ( 1,5 ) , (2,6 ) , ( 4,9 ) , ( 5,11 ). without carrying out any calculation , which of the following correlation coefficient best describes the relationship between x and y ?
A -0,98
B -0,25
C 0,98
D 0,25The answer shows 0,98 because ” its strong and positive ” . I completely don’t understand why its strong and positive here ?
3- There is a part of ” summarizing and analyzing data ” in BPP practice , for solving it , which chapter should I watch from your lecturers ?
Thanks , Mr John
November 6, 2019 at 7:14 am #551658I explain both of these points in my free lectures – you cannot expect me to type them all out here 🙂
They are dealt with in the lectures on semi-variable costs (chapter 19 of the free lecture notes).
November 6, 2019 at 5:02 pm #551702Oh yes . I’ve missed chapter 19 which talked about the correlation coefficient. Thank you
