people who have completed all their papers , which certificate ( ACCA practising certificate and audit qualification or ACCA practising certificate ) are you aiming towards after articles ? is there any advantage of even doing uk variants to get audit qualification since the turnover rate for audit is so high thus less demand ? any input is highly appreciated
August 8, 2015 at 8:53 am #266213I really want to get the practising certificate, so i can consider some self employed stuff, but i am not sure how to get the experience. It will probably mean changing jobs as my current employer wouldnt be able to support it
I will look at the tool on Myacca that lists employers that offer such experience

P2 i did international. I havent looked fully into it all, so any advice/info would be appreciated
The self employed thing is something I have been thinking about the past few months
August 8, 2015 at 12:55 pm #266240i am bit confused as well but from what i have gathered , if you want to become audit partner or want to be self employed you need practising certificate and audit qualification (if you are going to do that in uk and ireland ) and you need to do specific variants as well for f4 f6 p2 p7 eg uk ireland etc
https://www.accaglobal.com/content/dam/acca/global/PDF-members/2012/2012p/PC_factsheet.pdfand as far as your articles are concerned you may also need acca certified employer to full-fill the articles requirement in case you want to pursue the practising audit qualification.
the uk variant of p2 has about 20% worth of requirement different from international , but i asked mr mike and also i was reading other threads that since the harmony process with international standards is in the process, just like f7 and f8, p2 and p7 uk variants may also drop , so is it really worth studying extra uk variant content when there is good probability that uk var will be dropped sooner or later ?i am currently doing p2 and p3 but really not so sure which p2 variant to choose I might as well just go with practising certificate without audit qualification because my interests are in the field of taxation.
