Can I prepare for FM in just 8 weeks and pass the first time?

If I score higher marks say 70 and above it will be great but I just want to hit the pass mark 50 and above. Reason being I’m combining FM and PM which is stressful. I wrote PM in March and almost passed so I’m a bit confident this time around especially after discovering opentuition notes and lectures but for FM it is my first time and I just started learning yesterday. So if you can give me any advice or tips on how I can prepare for FM without trying to cover every piece of information in the syllabus since it is very large and pass within this short period, I will appreciate it.

I believe that OpenTuition’s FM notes + lectures is a far more concise way to cover the syllabus than to work through a 600+ page text or workbook – but it depends what works for you.

I can’t advise you on what topics you need to cover/can ignore to secure a 50% pass – because even if you were all over the Section C topics, that wouldn’t necessarily secure 30% – because that makes no allowance for getting a part of a question wrong.

If you take a little time to look through the notes, you may identify chapters that you don’t need to work through – for example, Chapter 7 is purely revision of assumed knowledge of Management Accounting – so if you remember those basics, you won’t have to listen to those lectures.

You’re not going to have wholly written questions in Section C – so you might, for example, “skip” the wholly written topics (like Islamic Finance) for your study phase BUT you should learn from every question on those topics that you encounter when you work through the revision kit/practice Qs from the CBE practice platform.
