    Hi,

I’m currently left with AA in skill level.

I’m in a delimma to start on the professional papers. I’m planning to start with APM as my first strategic professional paper after passing AA.

I’d like to know is it a good decision to start with APM or other paper?

    Thanks.

APM is a challenging paper from what the statistics suggest. On a very good sitting only 35% of students seem to be able to pass it.

I would say you should first finish the ESPM (Ethics and Professional Skills module – this can be done online at your own pace), then attempt either SBL or SBR. These are compulsury papers so you will have to do them sooner or later, and they tend to have a higher pass rate (51%).

Attempting those two will give you practice on how to use the CBE (Computer-Based Exam) facilities, and passing them will give you a confidence boost.

After that you should decide which two of APM, ATX, AFM and AAA to go for.

Personally I picked ATX and AFM as they are more technically challenging (read: more numbers), but every student will have different circumstances (requirements by employers, nature of their roles, better at theoretical discussions…) so you should consider what is the most suitable for your career.
