Good afternoon,
My plan is to choose project subject 15: an analysis and evaluation of the management of an organisation’s working capital over a three year period and its impact on the organisation’s funding strategies.
I was thinking to use 4533: Healthcare providers.
I am trying to find a suitable company through the internet…
I am leaving in Ireland so I thought to choose some local hospitals such as St Vincents or Mater Hospital but their statements are not published….
Might be my approach is wrong?
I am hitting the wall and now I am very worried….
If you could please kindly advise how to find a suitable company with the necessary information available I would be very grateful and probably I would be able to sleep better….Thanking you in advance.
Kind regards,

You don’t mention if there is a particular reason why you have selected this topic as your first choice. It will require you to have good access to financial data though.
It is also probably best suited to an organisation in the light industry sector (of the current prescribed industries that would tend to be electronics). This is because I would expect part of the discussions of cash management to involve stock levels, ordering quantities and purchase decisions. It would also entail examining the components of the working capital cycle and assessing payable and receivable policies.
It is probably less easy where potentially bought in materials are relatively insignificant (this is probably the case with mining and mineral extraction and also the case with many service industries) as it gives you less substance to discuss. The other element is funding strategies and the way the organisation manages its short and medium term funding requirements and an evaluation of these – though this would be particularly relevant to the mining and mineral extraction sectors. So finding an organisation (and a comparator one) is not easy unfortunately – again the reason I think electronics organisations are most likely to tick all of these boxes.
From a marker perspective (having been previously on the marking team) I have to say that Topic 15 did not ever have a particularly high pass rate and therefore unless you really cannot find another topic my honest advice would be to find look at the list of topics and go for something else.
Of course it is your choice, so I wish you well with your work and although this has probably been of limited help I hope it does give you something to think about.

You’ve been an amazing help for me. I feel that there is hope 🙂
I really appreciate your advice and taking your time answering my question in such a deep detail.I found topic 15 interesting this is why I was thinking to go for it but as you said it is not an easy topic to find information for…
My access to academic resources a bit limited as well.
I’ve contacted OBU regarding my student number so I could gain access to Academic libraries… but I was told that I don’t have one as I am a distance learner…
I was advised to use google scholar for research.Gillian are you taking on students/mentoring for the May submission?
Have a nice evening,
Kind regards,
