    It is really very confusing to me now…
    When i am analysing last three years , 2010, 2011, 2012
    I got stuck thinking if i also have to tell about the growth that happened in 2010, compared to 2009
    What i mean do i also have to compare 2010 with 2009, (isn’t that a fourth year ?)

    Although you are right but its not compulsory, i usually recommend for a comparison with FY09 also but three years ratio analysis and two years comparison is acceptable if you have done thorough analysis and justification of movements.

    Remember: Your analysis part must be over 4000 Words.

    Hi, If you are doing 3 year “year-over-year” analysis on financial statements, you won’t need 2009 financial statements. You can just show year-over-year analysis for 2011/12 and 2010/11. However, if you are calculating a ratio like Return on equity which needs the average equity figure, you will need the FY2009 shareholder equity figure.
    In-terms of referencing, You don’t have to include 2009 annual report in your referencing as you can get the equity figure from 2010 financial statement.
