Hi guys, hope everyone’s results were good and having a merry day and for those who have not passed don’t lose hope you can all do it just prepare better the next time.

I started my ACCA journey in Dec. 2018 sitting with 6 papers left to complete as I received exemptions from my Bachelors in Accounting & Finance for F1-F9 except for F6. For those who have received exemptions inc. myself I felt at a bit of disadvantage since my knowledge for subjects like SBR P2, AAA P7, AFM P4, APM P5 was not up to par with their fundamental levels. Due to such, I had to go over their respective F level lectures & notes from O.T to be ready for the P level & this helped me immensely in a core understanding of the subjects. Another aspect is the exam prep prior to it which is very vital for success in exams which I will explain below

Following a detailed and structured plan towards your exam prep is very vital, I had a timeline for every exam and it went like this 12 weeks prior exam; Week 1-4 complete O.T lectures; Week 5-7 complete the Kaplan text; Week 8-12 complete the Revision Kit & other mock exams; 2-3 days prior exam don’t do any questions just review all the imp. parts picked up doing Q. from the kit & relevant areas of study text. Following such a plan to exam prep makes the prep a much smoother & easier ride, you don’t commit to crunch time studies & avoid being stressful due to the late night study sessions which then just makes you more nervous & uneasy as exam nears with last-ditch studies and we don’t want that. What we want is to be ready for the exam as we go into the hall confident, calm and composed. Doing so I have passed all my exams in my 1st attempt & with an aggregate of 75% +/- in all the P level papers

When we study to gain a professional qualification we have to give it our all if we want to succeed & not just rely on hope when the results near. Whenever I gave an exam prior that I knew I had enough knowledge to guarantee myself at least a pass even if the worst paper turned up and that was because I prepared myself to each exam as such. If you commit to a plan, put in your max. efforts then there is no reason that one would not succeed just like everything else in life & this is what I would advise you guys.

Last but not least THANK YOU Open Tuition lectures for imparting the required knowledge for the exams through the lectures can’t thank you guys enough, will definitely donate to this site when I start working.

    Hi John,

I want to thank you for your hard work and help that you provided to everyone! I started my ACCA journey way back in 2013 and used it to pass F6 and F8 before I stopped my ACCA as I got offered a job at a bank on a IT project and not directly relevant to the ACCA qualification.

In May 2017, 4 years later I got offered a job at the same bank within finance/risk my line manager encouraged me to restart my ACCA and for the first 6 months I wasn’t able to get help with funding and used OT to pass my remaining F papers F7 and F5. I remember your F5 lectures being excellent.

I then used OT to pass P1, P3 and P4 (although did a revision course with Kaplan). I went to Kaplan for ATX/P6 ad SBR. The point I want to make is I found the teaching to be excellent and at sometimes used OT videos to cover any gaps in my Kaplan courses as there was loads of self-study.

I am really amazed of your vast knowledge and the amount of subjects you are able to teach to such high standards.

Thank you to all of the other OT tutors such as Keith – I also enjoyed his P3 lectures and was able to get my highest mark in P3.

I am now also an ACCA Affiliate.
