Hello Tutor,
In ACCA site there is feedback where we can see what the time management in the exam we have done,
I want to ask for the section C There are two option : question then in the bottom of that another question so basically we should assume that the upper question feedback is for the first question and the bottom one the second question in the exam done.
Is it okay?
I am asking this question because I found the the first question which I am sure that perform well was much of lower mark and the second question which I know that was not well completed having a better mark .
So I am confused with this feedback.I don’t why the well done question was lower marked .
The the first Constructed response question was about the ROI which studied well and the second constructed response question was about the optimum pricing tabular approach with some theory questions about
pricing(penetrating ,skimming, and descrementing price)which was is a very easy question but I did only the theory part.
Can you please clarify.
Thanks,
July 17, 2024 at 9:18 pm #708648Based on what you have said, it seems that the feedback on the ACCA site should indeed correspond to the order of the questions as they appeared in the exam.
The upper question feedback should relate to the first constructed response question, and the bottom feedback should relate to the second constructed response question.
I can only guide you having not seen your exam , therefore it is difficult to say.The marks could be different because:
Section C questions are marked ‘line by line,’ meaning you get marks for each correct part of your workings, even if the final answer is incorrect. It’s possible that the second question, despite being incomplete, had more parts correctly answered than you realised.
The examiners’ answers are often much longer and more detailed than what is expected from students. If your answers to the first question were not as detailed or missed key points, this could explain the lower marks. You may think you have written a fairly good answer but it may not have been as well explained or have answered the question set, as well as you thought.
Different parts of a question can carry different marks. If the theory part of the second question was well-answered and carried significant marks, it could result in a higher score despite the incomplete approach.
To better understand how marks are allocated, you might want to review the marking schemes available on the ACCA website for past exams. This can provide insight into how different parts of a question are weighted and marked.
