You failed? so what? I failed exams loads of times, for the F7 paper i failed repeatedly a number of times, then went on to pass P2 first attempt, I just sat P4 again after a fail, I reckon throughout my ACCA study my pass rate has been about 50% first time, 50% retake

First thing, dont write yourself off until the results come through, you might be suprised, I have been on a number of occasions

Secondly, these are hard exams, studied under difficult circumstances (assuming you work too?) if you have failed, then get straight back on it, and get revising straight away, thats what I do – the one thing you cant do is give up because of your pride taking a dent, that would be a ridiculous thing to do

thank you Carl even though u started by being arrogant. i wish i could pass it on my first attempt like you. it was the most difficult paper i have ever wrriten and it was my first P course. that is why i feel like all the Ps will be difficult. by the way i have seen the answers on the ACCA website. cash flow was horible. first figure ( PBT ) is wrong

I was 100% sure that iI’d failed P2 in June 13, managed to get 54%! I think that the markers are fairly generous as they know how hard a paper it is so just wait and see.

That should teach you a lesson that life is not a straight jacket. If you haven’t failed any of the papers and has been passing throughout consider yourself lucky. Otherwise some of us failure has been part of us in the long long walk to becoming an AFFILIATE.

Sorry, didnt mean to come across arrogant

I was making a point that it doesnt matter if you fail, just revise it again, and do it again

The answers on the website are a guide only, you can still get marks even if they are not on there, the marking criteria requires some marker discretion

The fact that you’ve got as far as the P papers means you must be doing something right! So don’t write yourself off for failing your first P paper. It was P2, which has quite a reputation for being a difficult exam. If you do fail, then it sounds like it might be more down to your approach than your ability.

P2 is the first paper I’ve failed – in Dec 12. One of the reasons being focussing too much on swotting up for Q1 at the expense of the rest of the paper. On my second attempt in June 13, I put a lot more effort into swotting up on the application of the accounting standards to better prepare for the scenarios in Q2 & Q3, and it paid off with a pass with 61 – a dramatic improvement on the 36 I got on my first attempt.

If I can turn an epic fail into a decent pass, then so can you. But all you can do tor the moment is sit tight, and see what the results bring you in Feb. You might be pleasantly surprised and get a pass and wonder what you were worried about in the first place!
