Dear Mike,
I work full time with a family its very difficult to put a lot of hours and every time I score between 45 and 48 marks from my knowledge.
Please advise what must I do? should I change the option?

I failed on my third attempt with 46!
I think realistically it is not possible for this Mike person to know what you need to change.
Try doing the past papers and mark yourself to see which areas you failed to get the marks. That is what I will be doing!
Best of luck.

July 21, 2017 at 3:22 pm #397951Getting 47 means it’s your exam technique that is the problem rather than your knowledge as this is classed as a marginal fail. You are probably spending too much time on a question. What order did you do the questions in? I would recommend doing section B FIRST and then doing the section A Q1 LAST. This will stop you from spending too much time on Q1 and then worrying about answering the other 3 questions in very little time. Remember Q1 is only 35 marks whereas the other 3 are worth a total of 65 marks.
July 22, 2017 at 12:09 pm #398083I agree about Exam Technique. I guess you have the required knowledge, but just need to change your exam approach
I would print out 3/4 past papers, and attempt them in EXAM CONDITION.
Then mark your own script and see where your weak points are.
My guess is that you are writing more than you need to on topics you know a lot about, which means that you are not leaving yourself with enough time for the other questions.
I feel it is as simple as that. Just Exam Technique.
I hope you get through P7 soon.
Keep going.

July 27, 2017 at 4:40 pm #399034I am sitting for Paper P7 for the first time on this September 2017.
However, hopefully my advice would help you a little.
As I have known that P7 is a real time exam question paper which means we have to answer in a very practical manner thus not simply sticking to the letter of the text books.
Though the questions seem easier at its first sight, they demand much more than what we normally think they are.
What I believe is we need to build more confidence and sharpen our understanding of the auditing issues hovering around the world.
