Hello all,
unfortunately i failed P5 on my 3rd attempt getting 47%.
should i go for a review to see if i should have picked marks elsewhere or possibly choose a simpler paper such as advanced tax.
i didnt feel like i was going to fail this one.
help!
September 1, 2014 at 3:31 pm #193221Hi there,
Speaking from my own personal experience – P6 is horrific! – I would regard it as the hardest exam Ive ever attempted – and I failed! All of the rest I have achieved passes on 1st attempt (other than P1 which took me 1 re-sit).
I have now switched to P5 for December 2014.
Its a matter of personal opinion – you may be very good at tax and find it easier than me 🙂
As for the review – I wouldnt go for it – theexam wont be re-marked and its very rare have I heard of anyone who had their marks altered after an admin review. Use the money for your next exam.
Best of luck
September 2, 2014 at 2:05 pm #193315Hi,
i decided to go with P6 for a few reasons. P6 has a higher pass rate. it is also more maths based which gives you right or wrong answers. i remember all my math based exams i remembered the pro formas and just filled in the gaps into the formulas and passed these first time.
P5 has less content which is great but the depth of questions is crazy especially when it based on judgement where proper evaluation picks you up the marks. The paper is definitelty passable but make no mistake you really have to work hard on this paper.
Though i only have to pass one more exam i’m actually going to apply for both exams to hedge my bets.
could potentially back fire but i hate studying for only one exam as it gets too boring and repetative.
best of luck
