suggestion to OT regarding this poll:
Can you pls add the 2 extra factors/options below to the current poll list?
– Exam was too hard (PS: not because one did not study enough)
– OtherRegards
December 6, 2013 at 4:11 pm #151117Hi, I am afraid it is too late. maybe next time, in June
although, “Exam was too hard” this question is asked under each exam separately.. this poll is more about other ‘factors’re ‘other’ we discussed and decided it internally, to let students post ‘other’ factors as comments because, of course, there is also one ‘none of the above’ which is not included in the poll either
but we always look to hear for comments / improvements, so thank you for these, like I said above, maybe in June 2014December 6, 2013 at 5:30 pm #151179CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHEN ACCA OR OPENTUITION WILL POST THE ANSWERS FOR PAPER F5?since the question paper is on the Acca website
December 6, 2013 at 5:52 pm #151222ACCA will most likely publish the answer at the end of January
OpenTuition probably will not post the answers, (stay tuned about that)December 6, 2013 at 5:54 pm #151225AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

Re: F6
“Didn’t understand what the examiner was asking”
This ^ for sure. Either in the requirement or in the body of the question.
Excel definitely too cold also. But good practice for those of us with a lot of eskimo clients. Unpleasant atmosphere at Excel didn’t help either.
Did I mention off-syllabus topics being included in the paper: eg. rent security deposits, insurance proceeds received after the year end and NIC’s for staff joining part way through the year. You would’ve thought that after squeezing such a ridiculous number of topics into the F6 syllabus they would’ve at least had the decency to stick to it.
Over and out.

Okay fair enough. Thanks for listening 🙂December 6, 2013 at 11:45 pm #151378Can anyone confirm/deny the rumors that f4 will be a multiple choice paper in 2014?:/
December 7, 2013 at 12:39 am #151387However I tried to stay calm, I started panicking once I turned the page, I knew I was shooting myself in the foot, but I could not help myself.
I lost some easy marks to my stress.

Poor time allocation
The most important point is that the questions were over loaded.December 7, 2013 at 5:03 pm #151531@bella101 please do not highjack the post.. you can easily start another topic with your question 🙂
F4 in June 2014 is still the same format as in Dec 2013..
Changes are for Dec 2014 f4 exams

The factors which affected me in the exams especially F7 was time pressured and it had a lot of adjustments compared to other sittings. In F9 it was just inadequate preparation otherwise the paper the paper was fair and passable.

I did not study well.
December 12, 2013 at 2:00 pm #152716Dear Colleagues!
I sat F8 & F9; The exams are passable, but not with the time allocated and silence wording of the questions – F9. The auditing paper require a lot of SPEED writing and there is no time for you to think. The answer MUST always be rolling off your tongue into the writing instruments. It was straight forward, but if you cannot write 90 WPM; it not for you.OT, I am grateful for ALL the information you have tried to help us succeed with such a difficult exams, and the examination body – ACCA are fully aware of the stress these exam posed to the candidates. In my opinion, it could be substitute with candidate presenting a case – especially Financial Management and resolve the issues. Home work for twenty-five marks.
I am doing these papers for YEARS and can never complete more than sixty percent of the papers – exams results marginally failed (45 – 49). I prepare for ALL papers and can answer them in my home with an extra 30 – 45 minutes. The FLASH cards on the site is plus. Thank you OT.

I think my performance was completely thrown by losing 3 whole weekends of revision due to my in-laws coming to visit from back home.
This was despite me telling them that it wouldn’t be fair to me and would adversely affect my study plan.
Grrrrrrrr.
At least I can re-sit; but that’s not the point as I have passed everything first time so far.
Double grrrrrrrrrr.
December 12, 2013 at 8:40 pm #152760At the end of the first exam, the invigilator announced that there would be one minute left, at the end of my second exam at the same exam center, the very same invigilator did not do this. I hac planned on using this one minute to check if I filled in all the bubbles at the top of the page… Lost one page of workings…

TIME PRESSURED – IF ONLY I COULD HAVE GET SOME 45 MINS I WOULD HAVE COMPLETE THE PAPER ..
December 14, 2013 at 9:46 am #152949My partner keeps saying to me “if the exams were easy, everyone would be doing them” . He has a point!
I do still find it quite demoralising, that even though I know the P1 syllabus quite well now, I can’t seem to pass the exam. The tight time allocation seems to muddle my thought processes, even though it doesn’t cause me a problem at home.Roll on June 2014, I’ll be ready for you!!!

December 17, 2013 at 8:11 pm #153127I sat for the papers F7 and F9.I was terribly sick so I wasn’t able to attempt the paper with clarification. My preparation for F7 was just okay and I was fully prepared for F9.But due to my illness, I was unable to attempt the whole paper. There was insufficient time to attempt the paper.
