Dear Sir
i am going to sit for my f7,f8,and f9 exam in this december.i sat for f7 last time and got 33%.this semester i have finished half of the f9 syllabus with opentution,i mean working capital and npv.i am practicing maths from opentution practice maths(10 of then have done).i need some guidelines and suggestion with my exam preperation for these 3 papers.my queries are stated below:
1.if i practice all the 15 maths from opentution and go thru 6 previous exam sitting for f9 properly.is it enough to pass f9 you think?
2.i have not studied f8 yet,i read the book of f8 7 months earlier which i can hardly remember.as this paper is fully based on theory do you think it is a good idea to attemp this paper too in this semester??im rushing because i am willing to finish my rap by next year september and for this i have to pass all part two papers within this year.please suggest if it is possible along with my f7 and f9.
3.lastly as i mentioned i attempted f7 last time and numerically i have covered 33% of this paper.will i be able to cover all three papers by the time i have left for the exams.i mean with all papers i will do opentution math practice and last 6 sitting question practice.is it going to be enough to pass?i am a full time student and currently capable of studying 9 to 10 hours a day.
Sir,please advice me if i am day dreaming to prepare for all three papers within the time i got left.if it is achieveable please guide me with how can i have the best output within the minimum time.i will really appreciate your suggestion as i believe you are the only person who could understand my situation and provide me some quality suggestions.please help.
Thanks in advance.October 21, 2013 at 11:16 am #143286I can only answer in respect of Paper F9 (I do not teach F7 and F8 – it is better to ask about these on the relevant Ask the Tutor forums.
Our Course Notes and lectures contain enough to pass the F9 exam well, provided that you do really understand them and that you are not just learning ‘rules. Half the exam is written as opposed to calculations and so it is vital that you fully understand everything.
You must practice as many questions as possible. Certainly you must work through all of the past exam questions, but better is to get hold of an exam/revision kit from one of the approved publishers – they have many more questions as well as the past exam questions.

Dear Sir,
what is exact dividend policy means?
October 27, 2013 at 8:12 am #143821There is no such term as ‘exact dividend policy’.
There are several dividend policies that a firm could follow – for example, they could have a policy of paying high dividends with little growth, or a policy of oaying low dividends but with higher growth ( due to the retention being used to expand the company) .
October 27, 2013 at 10:52 am #143830i find f9 so difficult to understand as wel!!!!
October 27, 2013 at 2:42 pm #143841I’m also struggling but I’ve almost finished all the material, so I’m spending the day drawing a large mind-map of the course. I’m half way through and it’s already helped me piece things together.
Once I know where all the pieces fit on the map I can start really practising the topics I struggle with the most. Hopefully this will get me through the exam.
